Pursuant to its mandate to conduct researches for the maritime industry and to strengthen its advocacy in maritime research, the NMP will organize a Maritime Research Forum. The forum will provide the venue for researchers to present to industry stakeholders the results of researches/studies conducted in the maritime industry, thereby elicit discussion and exchange of ideas on the implications of the research findings to policy and program review and development towards improvement of the country's maritime education and training (MET), in particular, and maritime manpower development, in general.
The NMP Maritime Research Section will present the completed researches in 2019/2020 and solicit comments for the further enhancement of the research reports. Maritime higher educations institutions (MHEIs), which also conduct researches will be invited to present a research paper. MHEIs will be selected from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The research papers presented in the forum will form part of the revival issue of the Philippine Journal on Maritime Education and Training (PJMET) to be published by NMP.
The forum will carry the theme: Navigating the Future of MET Through Collaboration in Maritime Research or Rising Above the Pandemic Through Collaboration in Maritime Research.
In keeping with the safety and health protocols amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the forum will be conducted online.
